Major Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
